How to Make Friends and Influence Developers

Mahdi Yusuf

Audience level:
Intermediate

Description

This talk will teach you how to grow a community around your project. I will be sharing interesting data points from the PyCoder's Weekly newsletter on what resonates well with developers, specifically in the Python community.

Abstract

I will be discussing what works and what doesn't work with building an online community using data from newsletter, as well as breaking down of the larger Python audience so how to best align your community or project for success.

I will draw conclusion from support data I have gathered over the past year working on PyCoder's Weekly as well as growing open source projects. This will try to show how to teach developers to market to other developers and see growth with their open source projects from analytical point of view.
